NBA 2k15 (PC) Bugs, Errors, Glitches and Common Problems - Fixes
System Service Exception Error
If you’re seeing the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION – 0x0000003B error message, it means that your operating system is out of date. This problem appears to be more common on Windows 7 OS that never ran a Windows update. The solution to this issue is to install the latest Windows update, or you can directly install the hotfix from Microsoft - https://support.microsoft.com/kb/980932.
Unable to install on a 32-bit machine
Can I run NBA 2k15 on 32-bit system? No. NBA 2K15 requires a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or higher. If you are still using a PC that runs on the 32-bit version of Windows, you may want to consider upgrading. To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows, open System by right-clicking ‘Computer’ on ‘Start menu’, and then clicking ‘Properties’. Under ‘System’, you can view the system type.
0xc000007b Error
There may be multiple reasons as to why you might receive the 0xc00007b error message when trying to run NBA 2K15 on a windows machine. In most cases it’s .NET framework causing issues. This can easily fixed by re-installing latest .NET framework from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30653.
Graphic Stuttering / FPS drop
It’s a known issue and 2K Sports are working on a fix. This problem tends to happen more often during cut-scenes. Some users had success by enabling the V-Sync in the video settings. - First up, go to your NVidia control panel.
- Click “Manage 3D Settings”. Screenshot
- On the right side, select NBA 2k15 for customization or if you haven’t, click the “Add” button. Screenshot
- After you’ve done that, scroll down the bar of the box until you’ve found the “Power Management Mode”, “Triple Buffering” and the “Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration” options. Screenshot
- Use the “Prefer Maximum performance” option for the “Power Management Mode”.
- If you have a single-display monitor, use the “Single display performance mode” option for the “Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration”
- Then, switch “On” Triple Buffering.
- Click Apply.

- Right click nba2k15.exe.
- Go to properties.
- Then go to the compatibility tab.
- Tick the radio button, “Run this program as administrator”
- Click Apply.
Method #3 (from Pdub) - Disabling Audio Driver

- Right click the High Definition Audio Device
- Disable it.
- Done.
Failed to Start the Game (Missing Executable
This error results from the improper delivery of necessary game files. You may need to completely re-install NBA 2K15.
For Steam copies: Right-click NBA 2K15 from your library, select properties, select local files tab, and click the “Verify Integrity of Game Cache” button. Wait until it says “All files are validated.”
GamePlay
Can I transfer my VC from one platform to another?
No. Players’ Virtual Currency (VC) balances cannot be transferred between any version of NBA 2K15, including across console generations.
How do I practice moves
There are two ways to practice moves in NBA 2K15. First, during the MyCAREER mode, you will have access to a practice gym in between games. Second, there are also the scrimmage/freeform modes in 2KU which will allow you to practice and run scrimmages.
How do I activate 2K University
In order to access 2KU, make sure you are connected online. Once you’ve connected, access NBA Today, then select the sub-menu for 2KU.
How do I skip cutscenes?)
In order to skip a cutscene, you have to watch have watched the intro with that profile. After you’ve watched the intro once with that profile, you can skip a cutscene.
MyPLAYER
I don’t like the face I’ve scanned to my player. Can I delete it?
There isn’t an option to delete a character’s face, but you can change it. In order to re-customize your character, follow these instructions:
- Go to the main menu.
- Select Options.
- Choose MyPLAYER.
- Edit your character as you see fit.
- Select “Complete” when you’re done.
How do I upgrade MyPLAYER badges?
You can view and upgrade your badges by going to the Attribute Upgrades screen and then pressing the appropriate button to view/upgrade badges.
I have tattoos. Can I scan and add them to my MyPLAYER character?
Unfortunately, no. Unless the tattoo is on your face, there’s no way to scan and add it to your character model. However, tattoos can be purchased and added via the in-game store.
Why does my grade go down when a team member turns over the ball?
Something you did was tied to the ball being turned over. Sometimes the foul called is rather generic and doesn’t specify what caused it to occur, at which point you may need to reference the rules of basketball to better understand what happened.
How do I check Coach Objectives?
There’s no way to manually check the objective goals set by your coach. However, they will be displayed each time you come onto the court to play in the box on the upper right corner of the screen.
